Submitted papers must be in the scope of the conference, namely in the field of Real-Time and Embedded Systems and Technologies. RTEST 2015 covers the following topics:

1. Real-Time Software and Applications, and Related Tools: Software architecture, programming languages, compiler and development environments, WCET estimation, software analysis and design (and the respective toolset), real-time simulation, test and verification, model verification and validation, different application areas like communications, medical, intelligent transportation, intelligent buildings, multimedia systems, aerospace, …

2. Embedded Hardware: Multicore and manycore systems, power and energy consumption, energy harvesting, battery management, processor temperature, fault-tolerance, reliability, security, embedded architectures, reconfigurable architectures, resource management

3. Real-Time and Embedded Networks: Network scheduling, network protocols, tools for modeling, design and analysis of embedded networks, wireless sensor networks, cyber-physical systems, network control systems

4. Real-Time and Embedded Operating Systems: Open-source operating systems and standards, OS architecture, drivers, security, fault-tolerance, reliability, power consumption, scheduling algorithms, resource management, performance, test and debug, runtime environment, middleware, multiprocessor systems (Note: papers for this track must include real implementations and enough justification for practicability. In special cases, simulation may also be acceptable.)

5. System-Level Design: This track includes contributions which combines ideas of different levels of system design including tracks 1 to 4 (e.g., hardware/software codesign or cross-layer optimization).

Submission of Papers

Submissions  must  be  in  PDF  format  and  must  be  submitted  online  via  the  RTEST  2015  EasyChair conference management system. Submissions in both English and Persian languages are accepted. The material must be unpublished and not under submission elsewhere. Submissions must not exceed 8 pages long (2 columns, 10 pt) for the main text, inclusive of figures, tables, and references. All papers submitted in English must conform, at the time of submission, to the IEEE Formatting Guidelines. Submissions in Persian should follow the CSI formatting guidelines. Papers exceeding the page limit will not be reviewed. Note that the submission deadline is a firm deadline and will not be extended.

The accepted English papers will be indexed by IEEE Xplore, and accessible through the IEEE Xplore digital library. A selection of the best papers will receive outstanding paper awards, and will be highlighted as such in the conference proceedings. Also, these papers will be invited to be extended for publication in selected journals after another round of review.

Formatting checks are enforced in the submission phase for final manuscripts. Please allow extra time to fix any formatting errors. Your final paper is planned to be included in IEEE Xplore. However, IEEE reserves the right to exclude an acceptance paper from inclusion in IEEE, if it is not presented at the conference or it does not meet IEEE’s quality standards. Please follow the following steps to finalize the camera ready version of your paper:

  1. Prepare in the IEEE double-column format using IEEE Manuscript Templates for Conference Proceedings available in IEEE Template for Conferences.
  • Do not add any page numbering, header or footer (other than the copyright info and symposium title discussed below).

  1. Insert an appropriate copyright clearance code notice is to appear on the bottom of the first page of your paper according to the guidelines set forth in the Cataloging/Copyright Instructions for an IEEE Conference Proceeding.
  • For papers in which all authors are employed by the US government, the copyright notice is: U.S. Government work not protected by U.S. copyright
  • For papers in which all authors are employed by a Crown government (UK, Canada, and Australia), the copyright notice is:978-1-4673-8047-8/15/$31.00 ©2015 Crown
  • For papers in which all authors are employed by the European Union, the copyright notice is: 978-1-4673-8047-8/15/$31.00 ©2015 European Union
  • For all other papers the copyright notice is: 978-1-4673-8047-8/15/$31.00 ©2015 IEEE
  • Latex users can add following lines just before begin{document} for the copyright notice to show up (shown below as an example for the third case above):
    • IEEEoverridecommandlockouts
      IEEEpubid{makebox[columnwidth]{ 978-1-4673-8047-8/15/$31.00~copyright~2015 IEEE hfill} hspace{columnsep}makebox[columnwidth]{ }}
  • MSWord users can use: ‘Insert’ -> ‘Text box’, insert the appropriate copyright notice in the textbox, and place the box (without border) at the bottom left corner on the first page.

  1. Insert the RTEST’2015 title, in a way similar to that explained above for insertion of the copyright clearance code. It should be inserted at the top left corner on the first page only. The title is:
  •  2015 CSI Symposium on Real-Time and Embedded Systems and Technologies (RTEST)

  1. Fill out and submit the following form to access the IEEE Electronic Copyright Form (eCF) system. The eCF system allows you to complete and sign the copyright release form. You must complete the IEEE copyright release form using the eCF system in order to submit your paper. This copyright release form MUST be COMPLETED when you are submitting your paper. A FULL/COMPLETE author list is needed.
  • Please note: You are stating that the material in your paper is original and you have not previously released copyright for this paper to another party. We cannot publish your paper without this properly completed form.
